QUAIL EGG PRODUCTION WHEN SUPPLEMENTING THE DIET WITH BIOACTIVE SUBSTANCE

This paper discusses the experimental findings on lay-ing quails when their diets were supplemented with iodine and starch mixture. Five groups of 120 comparable bred in Omsk Region formed; sex ratio was 1:4. The first group control; birds fed main diet without supplement; 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th trial where (potassium iodide) + (1:4) immediately before feeding. dosages tested product as following (in terms iodine, mg per 100 g feed): 2nd -0.05; 3rd -0.075; -0.10; -0.125. experiment lasted for 180 days. Throughout experiment, largest number eggs obtained -15240 eggs, more by 18.1% than control (P ≥ 0.99). laying quail day egg production 25.4 13.0% that group. In 4th, groups, average weight less control, respectively, 4.5; 7.1 8.0%. produced 17.0% 0.95), intensity -by 10.0%. feed costs lower 0.16-15.57% 10 eggs; 1 kg 9.08 3.12% control. profitability made 54.2%; 1.59% higher optimal dosage much 0.075 complete determined which contrib-uted to obtaining a greater economic effect production.
